Tom is a Commonwealth Games silver medallist in S14 200m Freestyle and is hotly tipped to do well at his first ever Paralympic Games in Rio in September 2016.

He burst onto the scene in 2014 when he became the first S14 swimmer to represent England at a Commonwealth Games. Since then, Tom has gone on to win European silver, World bronze and become a multiple British record holder.

In 2015, Tom qualified for his first IPC Swimming World Championships and came home with bronze in the 200m Freestyle. He holds British records in the 50m, 200m and 400m Freestyle and the 200m Individual Medley.

He admits he never really felt that he was good at sports such as football and rugby at school but when he discovered competitive swimming it gave him confidence. He is now aiming to finish on the podium at Rio 2016.

Tom is speaking at our Engage! Learning Disability Awareness Workshop at Burnley Football Club on Wednesday 3rd February. Check the homepage for further details.
