Delegates praise engage! workshop as it begins UK tour

Delegates in Glasgow say they enjoyed the varied and thought provoking workshop activities

The UK Sports Association’s engage! workshop series has been given a resounding ‘thumbs up’ in Glasgow as it begins its tour of the UK and you can book a place at your local workshop now.

On Monday, more than 20 delegates from both sporting and non-sporting organisations across Scotland took part in activities and demonstrations, which gave an invaluable insight into how their organisations can be more accessible to and inclusive of people with learning disability.

The day was led by our expert disability inclusion trainer, Janice Eaglesham, co-delivered by two of our Athlete Ambassadors Scott Quin and Robert Ferrol, and supported by two of our Athlete Reps Owen Miller and Aidan Turnbull.

The five-strong team shared unique and inspirational information from their own experiences but don’t just take our word for it, here’s what some of the delegates had to say:

Jennifer Griffin, Partnership Manager, SportScotland said: “The workshop was really useful and gave an excellent insight into learning disability.”

Andrea Savage, Employment and Activities Coordinator, Mainstay Trust agreed. She added: “It was an excellent day. The workshop was very well delivered and kept me interested throughout.”
