Payroll Giving – Give As You Earn

The scheme enables employees to give directly from their pre-tax salary to the charity, and receive immediate tax relief of up to £4 for every £10. It is an excellent way for employees to be able to give a regular and reliable donation to the UK Sports Association directly from their gross salary. Each employee can benefit from immediate tax relief, which can be up to 40% on each donation (Source: Payroll Giving Centre).

If as an individual, you would like to make a regular payroll donation, just ask your employer’s payroll department if they run a scheme. Payroll giving is easy, and best of all, it costs you less.

You can change or stop your monthly donation whenever you want by informing your payroll department. If they do not offer a scheme, you can still make a regular donation through direct debit.

Please contact our Chief Executive, Tracey McCillen on 020 7490 3057 or email info@sportexceluk.org for more information.

Corporate Donations

The UK Sports Association makes a real difference to the lives of athletes with learning disability. All donations, however modest, will assist us in our work that enables athletes with learning disability to develop and progress in the sport of their choice to the level of their choice as they chase their dream of Paralympics and Global Games as well as the added benefits that being involved in sport brings, from social skills, confidence, health and fitness and acceptance. Any company donations can be claimed back on your corporate tax – speak with the Inland Revenue for further details.

Your Company can help us to make that difference by making a one-off financial donation to the UK Sports Association. If you would like to make a donation then we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact our Chief Executive, Tracey McCillen on 020 7490 3057 or email info@sportexceluk.org

Gifts in Kind

Not all contributions to our objectives have to be financial. We warmly welcome donations of products or services for which we would otherwise have to spend vital funds on. There are number of items which we would be very happy to receive, such as office equipment, products that we may be able to use as auction or raffle prizes or gifts for goody bags; venues for events and professional expertise in a variety of areas such as marketing, PR, printing, legal, fundraising, IT support, sports kit and clothing, travel services to name but a few.

If you have an idea on how you might be able to support us, then we will be delighted to hear from you. For more information please contact our Chief Executive, Tracey McCillen on 020 7490 3057 or email

Donations and Gift Aid

How Can I Donate?

There are a variety of ways you can donate to the UK Sports Association (UKSA). Whichever way you choose and whatever the level of your donation, your support is greatly appreciated and will support UKSA in managing Team GB, its athletes and encouraging sports opportunities at every level for people with learning disability in the UK.

A regular donation will give UKSA more freedom to plan ahead in an effective way over the coming year and exciting events programme. If you would like to make a regular donation to support our important work then simply fill in the donation form here and send to us at your earliest convenience.

Perhaps you would prefer to make a one off donation. You can make a donation online or  by completing the donation form here and posting it with your cheque or Charities Aid Foundation Voucher, payable to “UK Sports Association” to:

UK Sports Association
PO Box 1318
Enfield
Middlesex EN1 9ZH

Or if you prefer to make a donation on line click here.

To find out how your donation will make a difference or if you have any questions then contact us on 0207 490 3057.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is an easy way to make your donation go further raising extra money for the UK Sports Association (UKSA) at no extra cost to you!

Gift Aid allows charities to claim back the tax from sponsors or donors as income or capital gains tax. This means that UKSA will get an extra 25p from the Government for every pound you donate. If you raised £1000 and all your sponsors allow us to Gift Aid their donation, then UKSA would be able to claim an extra £250 from Government!

Anyone who is a UK tax payer and has paid enough income tax or capital gains tax in that year can agree to have their donation Gift Aided. Sounds complicated? Don’t worry its not. All you have to remember is that if you are a UK tax payer and you tell us we can gift aid your donation by ticking the box on your donation form – we will do the rest! Do remember to give us the home address details of any donor though as its only individuals and not company donations that we can gift aid.

Unfortunately UKSA cannot claim tax back on any company donations. All Company donations should be sent to us including tax. The Company can then claim back tax through their annual returns and accounts.

Other Ways to Give

Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving, which is sometimes called “Give As you Earn – GAYE” is one of the most effective ways for you to support the UK Sports Association (UKSA) and its work. Its tax free, simple to join and you are in complete control!

For example if you are a basic taxpayer and you decide to give just £7.80 per month from your salary to UKSA, your donation will actually be worth £10 as UKSA will be paid the gross amount – once again there is no extra cost to you but your donation goes further!!

To make a regular payroll donation, contact your payroll department to see if they are registered with a Payroll Giving Agency. Complete a payroll giving form from your employer and that’s it!

If at any point you want to end the donation or change the amount you give you just need to contact your payroll department and make the changes.

If your Company is not registered with a Payroll Giving Agency, ask your Payroll Manager to contact us and we will happily provide your employer with details on how to sign up.

A Gift in Memory

So many of us face difficult and sad times when a family member, friend or loved one dies. “Giving in Memory” is a positive way to acknowledge and recognise the life of someone close to you and will help us to create better opportunities for many people with learning disability across the UK.

Instead of sending flowers, increasingly many people like to make a donation to charity and encourage others to do the same.

You can make a “donation in memory” by post by completing the donation form and sending it together with your cheque, or Charities Aid Foundation Voucher, payable to “UK Sports Association” to:

“In Memory”
UK Sports Association
PO Box 1318
Enfield
Middlesex EN1 9ZH

Remember to tell us who your donation is “In memory of” so that we can record the generosity of family and friends acknowledging the life of someone close.

If you would prefer to speak to someone about your “In Memory” donation, then please contact us on 0207 490 3057, but in the meantime, thank you for considering us at what no doubt is a difficult time.

A Gift in Your Will

It comes to us all and although we don’t like to think about our own mortality, it’s an important time in our lives when we come to writing a will so we ensure that the future of family, friends and loved ones are protected whilst leaving a legacy to something important to us.

If you are preparing to write your will, perhaps you would consider making a gift to the UK Sports Association for People with Learning Disability (UKSA)

Your generosity will help to ensure that athletes with learning disability have the same access to quality competitive sports opportunities across the UK.

So many people make the mistake of thinking that if they die without making a will their estate will automatically transfer to their partner or next of kin. Whilst this is possible, there are also situations where without a will entire estates go to the Crown!

Making a will is your way of ensuring that your legacy is left in a way that you want it to and for the benefit of those people that are close to you and for you to plan how to support your favourite charity after you have gone.

If you don’t have a will, or you wish to update your current will, it is important that you consult a solicitor. If you don’t have a solicitor you can use the Law Society’s on line solicitor locator by visiting www.solicitors-online.com

If you do intend to leave a gift to UKSA in your will, we would be very grateful if you could let us know your intentions. Your wishes and confidentiality will of course be honoured and a pledge to leave a gift will in no way be considered binding by the Organisation. By letting us know, it simply allows us to be informed.

To leave a gift in your will please give your solicitor the following details:

Our Registered Charity Number: 1050767

Our Contact Details:

UK Sports Association for People with Learning
Disability, PO Box 1318, Enfield, Middlesex EN1 9ZH

Thank you for considering us and our work as a beneficiary.
