Meet Lorri the Lorikeet headlining the 2019 Global Games

Revealed yesterday 12 August 2019, Lorri the Lorikeet is ready and waiting to welcome over 1000 world class athletes at this years Inas Global Games in Brisbane in the ‘inclusive spirit of the Games’.

According to the Local Organising Committee, “from her hilltop home on Brisbane’s Mount Coo-tha, Lorri the Lorikeet can look down on the fabulous river city every morning and decide where she most wants to travel for her early morning flight.

The Games hosts, Sport Inclusion Australia hope to see this major event be a showcase of good practice, inclusive opportunity and high performance sport.

With 10 sports presented over a week long competition, the Inas Global Games are the highest level of competition available for athletes with intellectual impairment on the Inas programme.

The Global Games will take place in Brisbane, Australia between 12th to 19th October 2019.

The British entry to the Games sees representation in athletics, cycling and tennis.  The entry is managed by the UK Sports Association (UKSA) in collaboration with the Lawn Tennis Association.

The Cricket Tri Nations, sanctioned by Inas, will take place in Brisbane at the same time as the Global Games, with British cricketers selected by the England and Wales Cricket Board, and the entry managed in collaboration with UKSA.
