Meet Welsh sport stars in Swansea this February

London 2012 Paralympians Dan Pepper and Chloe Davies will be joined by Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Jack Thomas and aspiring Paralympian Earl McRae at the UK Sport Association’s learning disability awareness workshop in Swansea on Monday 22nd February – and you can book your place to attend now.
Swimmers Davies, from Neath, and Thomas, from Swansea, as well as Cardiffian sprinter McRae are three of Wales’ most exciting athletes in disability sport and are all aiming to compete at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
They will be joined by Pepper, from Cheshire, who is widely regarded as one of the world’s best S14 swimmers, having won multiple gold medals at World and European level.
All four athletes have overcome the stigma of having learning disability and the obstacles that it presents in everyday life such as learning, understanding, and communicating effectively.
On Monday 22nd February, the athletes will be sharing their experiences and inspirational stories in and out of sport as part of a learning disability awareness workshop at the Wales National Swimming Pool, Swansea, SA2 8QG.
The event aims to challenge out of date perceptions. Our expert disability awareness trainer, Janice Eaglesham MBE will be delivering the workshop with the athletes to demonstrate how your organisation can take simple steps to become more accessible to and inclusive of people with learning disability who can be an asset to your organisation.
Places are strictly limited, so don’t miss out – book without delay.
