Tennis Foundation Seeking Coach for Learning Disability Squad
The Tennis Foundation is looking for a Coach with good experience and knowledge of working with tennis players who have a Learning disability, to support the work with their Learning Disability Development Squad training events in 2018.
Ideally the Coach would be located in the North – North West region as all the training events are held at South Ribble indoor tennis centre.
The purpose of the TF Development Squad is to train players who have been talent ID’d as having the potential to develop into an elite athlete who may move on to be selected to compete for GB in Inas International Championships.
You would be working as part of a larger support team but would co-lead on court drills, practices and oversee player development at the event.
The coach should meet the following criteria:
Is accredited with the LTA
Has a minimum of a level 3 coaching qualification
Has a good understanding of the adaptations required to tennis to effectively coach players with a
learning disability
Has a good knowledge of the Tennis Foundation’s LD player pathway, including competitions and
eligibility criteria
Is located in the North – North West region
Is able to commit to at least 2 events this year; dates are 5-6th May, 18-19th August, 24-25th
November
Has taken, in the last 3 years, the Tennis Foundation’s Learning Disability CPD
The Tennis Foundation will support this role through reasonable expenses for travel to/from the event and a day rate of approx. £130.
